Substantial Hailstones and Widespread Destruction

Homeowners reported large ice chunks measuring up to 7cm in particular locations. Meteorological experts announced that different parts across Queensland had been impacted by substantial ice precipitation.

Response teams were attempting to repair electricity service throughout the impacted areas, with dozens of response units deployed to manage the widespread outages.

Victoria's Weather Woes

Meanwhile, approximately one thousand energy customers in Victoria also encountered electricity disruptions after the metropolitan area saw its most precipitation in a year and a half.

Emergency response teams received nearly 600 emergency reports across the state, mostly for structural issues but also for fallen timber and flooding.

At one point on Sunday, in excess of twenty-eight thousand energy customers in the state were lacking electricity.

Weather Forecast

Moist weather were predicted to continue along large portions of Queensland's east this week as a atmospheric system continued to attract humidity against the coastal areas.

The following day was predicted as the most rainy day, with ongoing severe weather risk anticipated across multiple regions of both regions.

Safety Concern

Health officials warned that there was an increased chance of epidemic thunderstorm asthma across the northern rural areas, particularly given the ongoing climate situation.
