The United Kingdom is prepared to move forward with using the total value of immobilized Russian funds to support Ukraine's war effort, Leader Sir Keir Starmer has stated.

In a collective announcement, the officials of the Britain, the French Republic, and Germany asserted that this unified step would increase strain on Moscow's head Vladimir Putin and urge Moscow to come to the table.

They clarified that the move would be carried out in close cooperation with the United States.

British restrictions have blocked over £25bn of Russia's funds since the Russian government launched its full-scale invasion against Ukraine in 2022. But, up to this point, funds sent to the Ukrainian government using Russian holdings had solely been drawn from gains and dividends generated on them.

Sir Keir told Ukraine's leader Volodymyr Zelensky that the United Kingdom, the French Republic, and Germany were aligned in their desire to drive progress toward employing the complete amount of the seized Russia's state assets to halt hostilities.

He added that additional measures soon would apply more pressure on Russia.

This statement follows European Union representatives met in Copenhagen previously to debate utilizing seized Russia's assets for a €140bn financial aid to Ukraine.

Last month, President Donald Trump called on international partners to confiscate or utilize seized Russian assets, as reported by reports.

The worth of seized Russia's holdings in the European Union is estimated to be almost €211bn.

Leader Zelensky encourages Britain's Sir Keir Starmer to join the PURL program

Moscow launched extensive missile and drone strikes throughout Ukraine on recently, resulting in power cuts in significant regions of Ukraine's capital, Kyiv, and eight other regions.

Two people were lost their lives and no fewer than 20 people were hurt in the attack, the Ukrainian government reported.

In a message on social media subsequent to the strike, Zelensky stated that the cynical and calculated attack aimed at public and utility structures.

"The necessity is not just talk but concrete steps - from the America, the European Union, and the seven nations - in delivering anti-aircraft weapons and enforcing restrictions," he stated.

"Each restrictive measure undermines Moscow's military apparatus," Zelensky noted, in a different message.

Also on Friday, Zelensky told the press he would encourage Sir Keir to enter the PURL program, under which alliance members purchase weapons from the United States to provide to Ukraine.

While praising the United Kingdom's consistent assistance for Ukraine, he said it should send a clear signal that it would engage in the initiative, as well as enforce more sanctions on Russia.
